2001 LEO-15 Flight Lines
There are 4 sets of flight lines, two for morning flights, and two for afternoon flights. We have chosen to set up lines to the 30 and 40 meter isobath and will adaptively choose which set we fly depending on the nature of the in-situ sampling and modeling strategy. Our flight times are limited by solar zenith angle, so the shorter 30 m flight lines allow us more time to provide better along shore coverage. The flight times for each line will be fixed and are given in the corresponding spreadsheets (along with latitude and longitude of line waypoints).
Flight operations will commence on Saturday, July 21, and continue through Saturday, August 4. Nominal schedule is to fly 1 mission every other day, weather permitting. The PHILLS is configured for a 9 m GSD, 128 bands between 400-1000 nm. We will be flying shoreline mapping missions on off days, as well as other lines of interest, time/weather/jet cost permitting.
